The Flooring Dealer Institute was Founded in 2022 by industry veteran Dev O’Reilly. This new venture seeks to expand upon his legacy as a flooring business software developer to provide bespoke solutions to the unique problems flooring businesses face.
About Dev O’Reilly, Founder, President & CEO
John Devereux O’Reilly III, or Dev to those who know him, is the founder of the Flooring Dealer Institute. Before starting his distinguished 40-year career in the flooring industry, Dev earned a BS in economics and accounting from USL, now known as the University of Louisiana Lafayette, and served as a Naval officer during the Vietnam conflict.
Following active duty, he joined his father at Port Distributing Corporation and also formed Textile Management Systems to provide technology services. He spent the next ten years creating and working to release the initial versions of the flooring business management software known as RollMaster, now known as “Broadlume”, RollMaster is the software backbone used by thousands of flooring professionals and hundreds of flooring companies across the world. After the sale of RollMaster software to Broadlume in 2021 he founded the Flooring Dealer Institute.
He has been recognized with numerous awards and industry associations over the years. Dev is the former Audubon District Chairman of the New Orleans BSA and was an active member of the Azrock, Callaway, Monarch, Tarkett, Domco, and Mannington distributor councils. He is an avid supporter of the floor covering industry and flooring industry statistics. He formerly served in various roles with industry associations, including the formation of the FCB2B standard.
He has served in many important fundraising roles for the Holy Name School, Dominican High School, and Jesuit High School. Other interests include golf, world history, logistics, and aviation.
About Debbie O’Reilly, Vice President
Deborah (Debbie) O’Reilly has a degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. Her flooring journey began in various administrative, promotional and sales roles for Port Distributing, a New Orleans based Gulf Coast flooring distribution company. She was instrumental in the development, testing, documentation, implementation, support and training of the RollMaster Flooring Software product. Debbie’s entire flooring career has been helping flooring companies develop processes to maximize profit and use the software to its fullest potential.
Debbie is a proud mother and grandmother, as well as a huge sports fan, especially when it comes to watching her grandchildren, LSU, and the Saints.
